Namaste

I am completely excited to say that I joined a fitness club yesterday!

I have been thinking about it for some time now, and finally did something about it! My first class was this morning - Yoga. I LOVED it! But, let me tell you, it was hard! I had no idea!! We worked hard for 40 minutes and then spent the last 5 minutes working on deep breathing, and relaxation. Well...with a combination of the earliness of the 6:10 am class, and some very hard work - I fell asleep during the cool down! Just for a few seconds mind you, but it was sleep! LOL!

Looking forward to tomorrow's Power Cardio Class!

Namaste!

A little bit of Spring in our Living Room

Chloe and I decided that our Living Room needed a new punch of Spring in it, so out came the sewing machine, and some yummy Heather Bailey fabric, and voila!

12 1/2 inch squares on front and back, with bamboo batting in the middle, and a cozy lap blanket is ready for an afternoon of reading, and a warm cup of tea!

(The book - The Secret Daughter by Shilpi Somaya Gowda - a WONDERFUL teary read lent to me by a great friend. I would highly recommend it!)

Easter 2011

Easter is one of my favourite times of the year. It is a time to reflect, a time to be thankful for sacrifice, a time to share with family and friends.

Family traditions are VERY important to me and Jeff, so I thought I would share some of our favourite Easter traditions with you:

Easter egg colouring:

Chloe waking Cassidy up far too early to open their baskets:

Sunday morning Service and Easter dresses:

And I am so sad to say that I completely forgot to take pictures of our family Easter dinner with both of our families in attendance! We loved having this time with you all, and the memories are etched into our minds!

Happy Easter to you all!

xo,

P.S. Oh yes, and the chocolate?? That is an added bonus for sure!

Oops!

Well, I've been pretty neglectful to my blog for the past month haven't I? I have missed you all!

I have been thinking about my blog, but man oh man the days go by way too fast!!!

What HAVE I been up to?

A little bit of this:

And a little bit of that:

But most of all, I've had many glorious nights of just "chilling" with my family - the best nights ever!

Both of the above projects are still "in the works", with high hopes of being completed over Easter weekend! Wish me luck!

2011 Bronze Medallists - Provincial Petite

Way to go girls!!!!!!!!!! I would definitely call this year's Provincial Petite team (or U12 as it is now called) the "little team that could"! Out of 12 players, 9 were first year Provincial Petite players, and on top of that - our team had, by far, the smallest players (with Chloe being the smallest of the team - thanks to her Mommy for not helping her out with the "tall" genes...) :)

But these girls surprised everyone and brought home the Bronze Medal in their Provincials in Mississauga! We are SUPER SUPER proud of all of you!!!

Getting their medals:

What a fantastic year! We have so much fun with our "ringette families", and are already missing all of our time at the rinks!

A special thank you to the wonderful coaching - it was my absolute pleasure coaching with you!

Silver Medalists! Ontario RIngette Provincials - Tween AA

WOW!!! What can I say! What an extremely exciting 4 days!!!! Endurance, passion, speed, love, friendship, excitement - so many words to describe the amazing experience had by all!

Cass and her teammates put it all out there, and played 8 amazing games!

Warm ups:

Goofy times:

Opening Ceremonies:

Winning their Silver Medals (we are SOOOO proud of all of you!):

Some teary eyes after such a hard battle for Gold (and the chance to go to Eastern Nationals), but even more tears because some girls move up an age level next year so it will be 2 years before they play together again:

And one exhausted little sister:

What a truly amazing year these girls/friends/teammates have had! These are the wonderful times that happy memories are made of. Cherish every moment girls - you deserve it! Thank you coaches!!!!

The Beehive Wool Shop, and a Victoria (airport) Cowl

I had a 27-hour whirlwind of a business trip to Victoria, BC on Tuesday, but the whirlwind left me a free hour to tour and get giddy in The Beehive Wool Shop on Douglas Street in Victoria!

What a shop! The ladies who worked there were phenomonal! I simply said "I'd like to pick up some wool for a new project" and the wool and patterns came flying off the shelves and into my basket! And were there is no willpower, there is lots of wool!!!

The first ball I fell in love with? A 100% pure merino wool to make a colourful cowl! And a wonderful way to kill time in the Victoria airport. Knitting with a chunky Merino and 8mm needles makes a fast, but fun, project!!! I'll be getting a lot of use of my Victoria Cowl on these cold cold days! Picture to follow...

Next came a pattern for a that one of the girls in the shop was wearing. (And will be on my needles in short order!)

And finally, some Paton's roving wool which I hadn't been able to find here. What for? Duffers!!! (Stay tuned to see what a Duffer is!)

I think the search for new and interesting wool shops all over the map is a perfect new adventure!
